Are Small Firms Going Google?

Our law firm in NYC is starting to rely more and more on Google to function.  Google + offers great and free communication channels like chat, hang outs and circles.  We are just starting to use these.  Everyone at the firm now has a G+ account and we created "firm" circles etc. to organize information.  But people so far are a little reluctant to use circles for work.  Some of the lawyers and staff are worried about "privacy" issues.

But everyone so far loves the chat service.  We just moved into a big open office floor plan on 55th Street between 5th and 6th avenue.  So our law firm actually looks more like a tech firm.  No one has their own office.   People, even the lawyers, actually love it.   But the chat function is fantastic in this environment because it lets people communicate easily without disturbing others.  What a great service.   We used to have expensive SalesForce accounts to chat, but who needs that now.

But Google offers more.   They have a suite of small business apps that we are just starting to use.   This weekend we are migrating our email from Rackspace (sorry  Robert Scoble) to gmail and the other Google apps like calendar etc.  We are moving quickly into the Google ecosystem and for that reason I bought a Nexus 7 which integrates seamlessly with the few Google products we use so far.  I expect it to be better as we move forward.  Someday maybe everyone at the firm will have face the unthinkable prospect of turning in their iPhone for a Google Nexus phone.

Has anyone else started using Google + for work purposes?
